Far Cry 2 can embarass actual gaming videocards, so it of course makes mincemeat out of the Geforce 9400GT. It only loses 1FPS switching from 4xAA to 8xAA.

Crysis 1.2 - AA/AF Tests

Source: Electronic Arts

Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter developed by Crytek. Crysis uses Microsoft's new API, DirectX 10 for graphics rendering, and includes the new engine—the CryEngine 2—that is the successor to Far Cry's CryEngine. CryEngine 2 is among the first engines to use the DirectX 10 framework of Windows Vista, but can also run using DirectX 9, both on Vista and Windows XP.

Okay, this is just getting kind of sad now. Obviously the ASUS EN9400GT videocard was not going to do well in this test, but at least we know now that the Radeon HD 4870X2 is 9.9 times faster than the Geforce 9400GT in Crysis with all of the detail settings turned on.

I think we've effectively demonstrated that this videocard isn't destined for hard core gaming. Let's wrap this up and ponder where the EN9400GT fits into the grand scheme of things.
