32-Bit CPU Gaming Benchmarks: FEAR

Sierra FEAR 1.08

Source: Sierra

FEAR is Sierra's latest first person shooter which relies heavily on DirectX 9 features. With its "Soft Shadows" feature enabled, even the fastest videocards run at a crawl, FEAR is definitely the new benchmark for future FPS games to follow.

Higher results are better.

The Athlon II X3 435 underperforms in FEAR, which can't take advantage of its extra core and wants a faster cache as well.

Fear is quite limited by the Athlon II X3 435 processor in Windows 7 as well. A lack of L3 cache seems to hurt gaming performance.

With all of these graphs and charts put together, for both Microsoft Windows 7 and the Windows Vista operating system PCSTATS is finally getting a look at the real strength of the AMD Athlon II X3 435 processor. Don't worry, plain language conclusions are up next to help put all this information into nice understandable language...
