While Call of Juarez pulls off all the classic FPS mechanisms with aplomb, it also features interesting variations that give it the air and feel of a true Western movie. The player has the genuine impression of being a pistol-packing hero in an age when armed confrontation was the daily grind for many adventurers. The Developers have incorporated a classic shooting system as well as two extra game modes.

Call of Juarez is also a little too much for the Radeon HD 4290 IGP. It's one of the fastest IGPs in this test, but the Biostar TA890GXE motherboard is stuck at three frames per second.

Crysis 1.2

Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter developed by Crytek. Crysis uses Microsoft's new API, DirectX 10 for graphics rendering, and includes the new engine—the CryEngine 2—that is the successor to Far Cry's CryEngine. CryEngine 2 is among the first engines to use the DirectX 10 framework of Windows Vista, but can also run using DirectX 9, both on Vista and Windows XP.

Crysis naturally destroys every IGP on the market, with only a handful of integrated graphics processors able to run the game over 3 frames per second. Get a discrete graphics card and pop it into the Biostar TA890GXE's free PCI Express x16 slot if you plan on smooth 3D gaming.
