360-Degree Motherboard Gallery: Features and Layout

360-Degree Motherboard Gallery:

ECS' H67H2-M motherboard has one PCI Express 2.0 x16 videocard slot that runs with 16-lanes of bandwidth for users wishing to move from integrated graphics to a discreet videocard. The remaining expansion slots on this mATX board include two PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots and a legacy PCI slot.

Note the Port 80 card tucked in by the Intel H67 chipset at right. Post codes listed in the back of the user manual to help you decode the two-digit PORT 80 display.

Along the bottom edge of the ECS H67H2-M motherboard are headers for the following devices/ports: Front panel audio, SPDIF out, four USB 2.0 brackets and a Trusted Platform Module. This is pretty much the basics supplied by the Intel H67 chipset.

Next to the front panel IO headers are two 6Gb/s SATA III ports (grey) and three 3Gb/s SATA II jacks (white). An additional eSATA port is located at the rear I/O and a second eSATA bracket is supplied as well. The Intel H67 supports RAID 0/1/5/10 across any of these ports via Intel Matrix Storage Manager. The Intel H67 Express chipset itself is cooled with a very small passive aluminum heatsink.

Physical Power and Reset buttons

In this corner of the ECS H67H2-M motherboard we find physical power and reset buttons that make tweaking a system out of the box so much easier. A CMOS reset button is located on the rear-IO panel and a CLR_CMOS jumper just to the left of the power/reset buttons. A quick word on buttons - motherboards can look alike from afar, but once you begin building a computer system with one you quickly realize where extra time is spent to make your life easier. Physical power and reset switch make tuning the system out of the box easy.
