Mol Dyn: Molecular Dynamics is a method for simulating the thermodynamic behaviour of materials using their forces, velocities, and positions. Most important of the afore mentioned is the force. Primordia: This code calculates the Quantum Mechanical Hartree-Fock Orbitals for each electron in any element of the periodic table.

Processor Seconds Ranking
1. Athlon64 FX-51 79.6
2. AthlonXP 3200+ 78.4
3. Pentium 4 3.2GHz 92.3
4. Pentium 4 3.2GHz EE 90.5
5. Pentium 4 3.6GHz EE (OC'd) 81

The Mol Dyn (Molecular Dynamics) benchmark simulates thermodynamic behavior of materials using their forces, velocities, and positions. The simulation is measured in seconds, so lower scores are consequently better. While the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition performs marginally better than the original 3.2GHz part, it isn't enough to overtake either the Athlon XP 3200+ or Athlon 64 FX-51. Even running at 3.6GHz, the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition finishes in second place.

ScienceMark 2.0: Primordia
Processor Seconds Ranking
1. Athlon64 FX-51 378.8
2. AthlonXP 3200+ 413.1
3. Pentium 4 3.2GHz 419.7
4. Pentium 4 3.2GHz EE 408.0
5. Pentium 4 3.6GHz EE (OC'd) 367.5

Primordia calculates the quantum mechanical Hartree-Fock orbitals for each electron in any element of the periodic table. In the case of our benchmark, it's silver. As before, the results are measured in seconds. Again, at its default speed of 2.2GHz, the Athlon 64 FX-51 bests Intel's Pentium 4 Extreme Edition. AMD's Athlon XP takes third, only to be trailed by the 3.2GHz Pentium 4.

Unreal Tournament 2003

Source: Epic

Unreal Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.

4. Pentium 4 3.2GHz EE 94.9
5. Pentium 4 3.6GHz EE (OC'd) 104.7

Intel's Pentium 4 Extreme Edition gains significant ground compared to the vanilla 3.2GHz part, but it isn't enough to best AMD's Athlon 64 FX, which is a full 28 percent faster than its predecessor is in the processor-intensive Botmatch portion of the demo. Overclocking yields an extra 10 percentage points in the same component of Unreal Tournament 2003.
