MSI Champion Edition G4Ti4600-TD Videocard - PCSTATS
Using the same shiny GPU cooler, the videocard does look very fancy.

Benchmarks: QIII Arena AA and Conclusions

Quake III Arena

Source: ID Software

Quake III Arena is a First Person Shooter (FPS) that revolutionized gaming as we know it. Using multiple light sources and having graphics textures that can fill videocards, even after 3 years it's still able to bring a cutting edge system to its knees.

3. MSI Champ Ed G4Ti4600-VD QC AA 62.3
5. MSI Champ Ed G4Ti4600-VD 4x AA 42.3

Quake III players will are able to play at 1024x768 but 1600x1200 is still out of reach when AA is enabled.

Conclusion:

Even though the Radeon 9700 has surpassed the GeForce4 Ti4600 as the speed king, the MSI Champion Edition G4Ti4600-TD is still a very powerful videocard. With a street price of $365 CDN ($240 US) it's also about the least expensive Ti4600 around! With the new purple coloured PCB the Champ Ed. Ti4600 is also one of the prettier Ti4600's out there (if style or case modding is your thing).

Obviously, because the card is based on the GeForce4 Ti4600, it's one fast card. Performance was excellent in every benchmark we threw at it, even with AA enabled. The particular sample we tested wasn't the greatest in overclocking, but that is always somewhat luck of the draw - and 336/736 MHz isn't too shabby.

We really wish MSI would come out with a dual DVI based GeForce4 Ti4600 before nVidia cycles over to NV30. Dual DVI's allow the user to use two DVI based LCD monitors, or with those little adaptors any other combination of DVI and Analog displays. Another thing that would have been nice is a VIVO module, but that is minor point for most of us I think. The Champion Edition should completely replace the older G4Ti4600-VTD as MSI's flagship videocard but it doesn't because it lacks the VIVO option.

If you're thinking about getting a new videocard don't overlook the MSI Champion Edition G4Ti4600-TD. It offers great performance and comes with quite an impressive software and hardware package!
