PCMark can be used on desktop
PC's, Laptops and even Workstations and tests everyday
computing from home to office usage. PCMark specifically stresses the CPU,
memory subsystem, graphics subsystem, hard drives, WindowsXP GUI (if WinXP is
used), video performance and even laptop
batteries.
PCMark2002
seems to like the OCZ PC3500EB Platinum quite a bit as well. It perform just a
hair slower than the BH-6 based OCZ PC3200 Platinum Limited Edition at stock, and
destroys everything when overclocked.
PCMark04 is the latest version of the popular
PCMark series. PCMark04 is an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for
measuring overall PC performance. It uses portions of real applications instead
of including very large applications or using specifically created code. This
allows PCMark04 to be a smaller installation as well as to report very accurate
results. As far as possible, PCMark04 uses public domain applications whose
source code can be freely examined by any user.
It's
interesting to see that the Athlon64 and Pentium 4 get similar performance
boosts when it comes to
overclocking!
