Unreal
Tournament 2003 is the sequel to 1999's multiple 'Game of the Year' award
winner. It uses the very latest Unreal Engine technology - where graphics, sound
and game play are taken beyond the bleeding edge. Unreal Tournament 2003 employs
the use of Vertex as well as Pixel Shaders and it's recommended that you use a
DirectX 8 videocard to get the most out of the game.
Who
doesn't like UT2003? Who doesn't like to play UT2003 with all the nice IQ
features cranked up? Who likes to play a game that looks amazing... but chops
better than Wok with Yan!? lucky for you, and your budget, the GV-RX60X128V can
offer up a dish of great frame rates at 1024 x 768, even with AA and AF
enabled!

emerging into as the new battleground for nVidia and ATI to rustle around in,
each company is eager to show consumers that it has the "superior technology."
nVidia use an HSI bridge chip, and ATI have the PCI-Express interface built into
the Radeon X600XT core. Does it really matter at
this point, with mainstream GPU's? Nope, not really. Is the X600XT faster than
the FX5750 GPU? Yes. Benchmark after benchmark prove it. So folks, the point to
take away here is to focus on what matters, and take the marketing with a grain
of salt.
In spite of the new PCI-Express slot, the Gigabyte GV-RX60X128V really just takes over from where
the old Radeon 9600XT left off, and that's pretty damn good. The software
package which accompanies the card is a bit thin, but at least the card comes
with a useable break-out VIVO cable. I'd say that overall that makes the
Gigabyte GV-RX60X128V a pretty good deal for mainstream budgets, and gaming
needs.
For those of you who like to live on the "wild side" the
GV-RX60X128V was a pretty good overclocker. Its core reached 616 MHz and the
memory cycled away at 414 MHz, yet all the while the cooling solution is
remained virtually dead silent.
Compared to its intended rival, the GeForcePCX 5750 GPU,
the Radeon X600 XT is the better solution. In every benchmark we ran, the
GV-RX60X128V scored higher at stock speeds, which means there is a lot of value
in this little Gigabyte card. For consumers looking to supplement a new
PCI-Express based computer with graphics before the really big PCI-Express guns
come out, you're best mainstream bet is going to be the X600XT based card like
the Gigabyte GV-RX60X128V.
