Benchmarks: 3DMark2001, AquaMark3

3DMark2001 Source: FutureMark

By combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, it continues to provide good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001 SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using Ipion real-time physics. Higher 3DMark scores denote better performance.

Albatron PX915G Pro (915G 200/400) 12253
DFI LANParty 875P-T (i875P 200/400) 22441

If you haven't noticed, we reran all the Gigabyte GA-8ANXP-D tests for this review and this time around equipped it with a rare X800XT PE videocard to give an "apples to apples" comparison. The DFI LANParty 875P-T does fairly well for itself here, especially considering the i875P chipset is over a year old!

AquaMark3 Source: Massive Development

AquaMark3 is a powerful tool to determine reliable information about the gaming performance of a computer system. Because the benchmark extensively utilizes DirectX9, DirectX8 and DirectX7 functionality, it represents the requirements of typical gaming applications in 2003 and 2004.

Albatron PX915G Pro (915G 200/400) 24023
DFI LANParty 875P-T (i875P 200/400) 61045

It's nice to see that the i875P chipset can still be classed as a high performing core logic. In AquaMark3 benchmarks, the DFI 875P-T goes all the way against the higher end 925X based Gigabyte motherboard.
