Another Fast Motherboard from Albatron

The Albatron PX925XE Pro-R that is one of these next generation high speed Intel motherboards based on the 925XE chipset. The board only supports 800 MHz and 1066 MHz FSB Socket 775 Pentium 4 processors, but is best suited for 1066FSB CPUs. This motherboard was very easy to use, and even a newbie computer user shouldn't have much trouble installing this board into a case without referring to the users manual. We would recommend that Albatron consider including more components with its motherboards, such as USB brackets and more Serial ATA cables. The current packaging just seems rather skimpy, and doesn't do Albatron or its products justice.

In the benchmarks, the PX925XE Pro-R came through very well, with the possible exception of PCMark04. Often the board would come out on top, and when it wasn't first it wasn't far behind the leader. When it comes to overclocking, the Albatron PX925XE Pro-R is a monster. We were able to hit an awesome 256 MHz with air cooling! That left the test Pentium 4 540 processor running at 4.1 GHz, which is extremely impressive.

With a retail price of $201 CDN ($164 US), the Albatron PX925XE Pro-R is a bit on the pricey side, especially when you take into account the lack of extra brackets/cables/and whatnot. On the other hand, every 925XE motherboard on the market is expensive right now, and this Albatron board is a great performer. If you're looking for a high end Socket 775 Pentium 4 motherboard, look Albatron's way because they have one very fast solution.
