3DMark05 is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher.

In 3DMark05, things are completely different and the Asus K8N4-E DLX actually comes in first in the overall score, beating the faster systems. While this benchmark is hardly dependent on anything except the videocard, this could still be encouraging for gamers. Let's see if this performance continues.

Comanche 4	Source: Novalogic

The Comanche 4 benchmark demo is a unique test as it represents a real-world gaming experience. It contains the single player "Eagle's Talon" mission from the game as well as a detailed cinematic. This DirectX 8.1 benchmark demo will measure your system's performance in the standard frames per second format. The benchmark was run with audio disabled.

Comanche 4 is a very system intensive benchmark and here we see that the Asus K8N4-E DLX, unfortunately, comes in last. Again, when trying to compare PCI Express systems to PCI Express systems based on dual channel DDR socket 939 Athlon64 processors, this is bound to happen.
