The onboard Intel GMA950 videocard can run 3DMark05, albeit very, very slowly. Slapping a GeForce 7800GTX PCI Express x16 videocard into the system brings 3D performance up drastically, even though it is running in PCI Express x4 mode. The onboard Intel GMA950 videocard simply doesn't have the power to run 3D games.

We see similar results in 3DMark06, the Intel GMA950 videocard is entirely unsuitable for gaming. The DirectX 9.0C support is going to be invaluable for Microsoft Vista's upcoming 'Aeroglass' interface however. With a standalone Geforce 7800GTX videocard the Gigabyte GA-8I945GZME-RH handles the 3D game tests at levels which closer to par with the other platforms. Curiously the PCI Express x4 mode limit appears to have a minimum of effect on the videocard's benchmark performance.
