PCMark05 is a premium tool for measuring both normal home use and simple 3D performance of the latest PC hardware. There are 11 system tests - each one is designed to represent a certain type of PC usage. By running these tests, PCMark05 stresses the components in a similar manner as they are stressed in normal home usage.

Here in PCMark05 the overall score does not change much from overclocking but the memory portion of the benchmark sure does. Let's see what this extra bandwidth means to the 3D tests.

3DMark05's overall score is mainly videocard limited which is why the boost due to overclocking the memory is minimal. The CPU portion of the test definitely notices the extra bandwidth though, it's almost 1000 points higher than stock!
