Inside the Epox 8NPA SLI BIOS

The Epox 8NDA SLI motherboard comes with a whole load of memory tweaking options, just because you're not using the latest and greatest CPU does not mean you don't to tweak!

experts tip: a little known memory tweak...
epox offers dozens of memory options in the bios of the 8npa sli motherboard, but the option that most affects system performance is 'Row Cycle Time' or 'Trc.' Memory willing, setting this value to '7T' should give the system a performance boost similar to what one would see when playing with the CAS Latency settings. If you have really good quality DDR, this will work. Bargain basement DDR will have a harder time running with Trc set to 7T. To be safe we'd recommend testing the system for stability before doing anything that is mission critical after making this adjustment.

Users can adjust the motherboard frequency from 200-400 MHz, in 1 MHz increments. The PCI Express clock speed can be adjusted from 100-145 MHz, however that is better left alone. The Epox 8NPA SLI has multiplier control options, and CPU voltage can be increased 0.05V. DDR memory voltage goes as high as 3.1V, and chipset voltage all the way to 1.8V.

Now a quick look at the test system specs before we move right into the full spectrum of benchmarks. The Epox 8NPA SLI was tested with an AMD Athlon64 3200+ processor.
