FEAR is Sierra's latest first person shooter which relies heavily on DirectX 9 features. With its "Soft Shadows" feature enabled, even the fastest videocards run at a crawl, FEAR is definitely the new benchmark for future FPS games to follow.

For a mainstream videocard like the MSI NX8600GT Twin Turbo, turning on Soft Shadows at a high resolution proves a bit too much. Then again, it's too much for almost every videocard except the bleeding edge beasts like the Geforce 8800GTX and Radeon HD2900XT. Damn, I love those two videocard GPUs!
