Siemens ID Mouse Review

Does your computer contain sensitive information? If it does, you might want to consider using a biometic mouse to control access to your computer and your files. By using the traits of a persons' fingerprint to grant, or disallow access to a computer system, biometrics introduce a level of security which is hard to match, and even more difficult to circumvent.

One such entry in the world of biometric mice is the Siemens ID Mouse. It differs from other biometric solutions we have looked at previously like the Umatch Biolink in that it uses a capacitive sensor from Infineon Technologies to read the lands and grooves of a fingers. According to Infineon this method is more difficult to foil because it can sense the difference between flat representation of a fingerprint and the real thing.

The unique characteristics of a fingerprint is the key that allows the owner to gain access to the system, and what keeps intruders from getting in.
