SteamOS vs. Ubuntu 13.10 - Intel HD Graphics Performance
     Sat, Dec 21 2013 | 9:02A | Audio / Sound | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
"When Valve announced the public release of the beta for SteamOS 1.0 "Alchemist" on Friday they listed NVIDIA graphics as a hardware requirement, but I showed that AMD Radeon graphics with Catalyst would work and it's possible to get Intel graphics working (or the open-source graphics drivers in general) through a minor change to the Linux-based SteamOS kernel parameters. After that I ran some benchmarks and here are a few performance results comparing SteamOS 1.0 Beta to Ubuntu 13.10 with Intel HD Graphics."

Corsair Vengeance 1400 Gaming Headset Review @ Legit Reviews
     Fri, Dec 20 2013 | 10:02A | Audio / Sound | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Corsair has been busy the past year improving its peripheral lineup. We previously reviewed both Vengeance mechanical keyboards and noticed that the biggest changes to those products over their predecessors were implemented from community response. We were impressed at how well Corsair was able to adapt to all the feedback and improve already likable keyboards. However, those aren`t the only gaming peripherals Corsair has worked on. We`re about to take a look at all of Corsair?s new headsets for 2013 in a series of reviews starting with the Vengeance 1400."

In this review we peek and listen towards the new Corsair Vengeance 2100 wireless headset. The Vengeance 2100 is an updated model from the 2000 series and works through a USB transmitter powered surround-sound ogre headset and comes with nice big 50mm drivers and revised USB drivers that include surround sound, capable of offering 16-bit/48 KHz playback. All new is a Dolby Pro Logic IIx certification and a new color theme, it's back.

CM Storm Ceres-300 Headset @ LanOC Reviews
     Tue, Dec 17 2013 | 9:03A | Audio / Sound | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The gaming headset market is flooded but conventional wisdom has always been that if you want quality sound and a comfortable fit you are going to have to pay a little bit more for it. Today, however, we review an introductory model from Cooler Master that promises all the performance and comfort you’d expect in a mid-range headset at a price tag of under $30. The Ceres 300 is a follow-up to the Ceres 400 and comes with a more streamlined look and feel. Everything you’d expect to see in a head twice the price seems present but we will put it to the test to see if the Ceres 300 is truly worthy of praise.

Spire CASSI 323 Tablet Stand - BCCHardware
     Sat, Dec 07 2013 | 3:07P | Audio / Sound | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
In the end the CASSI 323 is a decent choice if you need a stand for your tablet. In my mind most of these stands will do the same thing and there really isn`t a wrong choice to be had. Style availability and person preference are ultimately what dictate a purchasing decision for a basic tablet stand. With all that in mind the CASSI 323 is a decent choice as it has pretty basic features a nice style that blends in with pretty much any decor and is affordably priced."
