Reports surfaced last weekend that AMD`s graphics roadmap for 2013 would keep the Radeon HD 7000 series stable throughout the year. Naturally, we had questions, and AMD held a conference call for the press today, in an attempt to clarify matters. As for whether it worked, well, you can decide for yourself:"

Desktop PC: Intel Says the End is Near @ Benchmark Reviews
Back on August 2010, I made a prediction: desktop PCs have an expiration date, and that time may not be far off. I followed-up that article with several more editorials that contained plenty of truth, but our readers commented in revolt. Even some of my industry peers said I was pessimistic, and that the enthusiast desktop PC industry would continue to thrive and grow. I later predicted key points that would prove themselves essential for Intel to sustain desktop motherboard development, and now Intel has announced the end of the desktop platform - or rather a slow three-year wind-down toward an end by 2016. Here`s how the desktop PC ends..."

NVIDIA Free-to-Play Review
As I said earlier, all three of these games are enjoyable and fun because they are. They`re also different games, so naturally they are enjoyable and fun in different ways and for different reasons. PlanetSide 2 I feel is fun and enjoyable in what I feel are the most important ways, of these three. World of Tanks is also fun and enjoyable, but is lacking in design elements that I believe are important for the experience of any game. Hawken seems to exist as a manifestation of our desires for big things and big explosions, which does make it fun and enjoyable, but almost relies on that instead of a solid gameplay experience, like what you get with the other two games."

Why Michael Dell Made His Bold Move
Dell's decision to go private (and Microsoft's $2B investment) are big news in the tech world today, but there's precious little in the way of hard evidence for why Michael Dell decided to buy back the company he founded as a college student back in 1984. The Microsoft angle has gotten a lot of press, but it's not the primary driver of the deal.
Michael Dell clearly has some ideas about how he wants to refocus the company; Dell signed off on $5B in acquisitions in the past 12 months, and $13B in the past few years. All the major acquisitions have been enterprise companies; he's clearly preparing the company to take on HP and IBM in lucrative segments of their own markets.
While it may not have the same requirements to shareholders now, Dell still needs to explain how it plans to reinvigorate its brands, leverage its new partnership with Microsoft, and invest in businesses...

[Tech ARP] Facebook Lies In Its Advertisements!
My problem with Mark Zuckerberg taking Facebook public isn`t that he gets to make a gazillion dollars - *this is capitalism, remember?* Or that many Facebook shareholders feel that they were ripped off in the IPO - *caveat emptor, my friends!* My problem with him taking Facebook public is that he no longer seems to be focused on making the world open. Instead, he seems to be more beholden to the shareholders, and proving to them and the world that he can monetize the huge Facebook community. Now, I have nothing against corporations making money. After all, corporations are people, aren`t they? They should be entitled to a decent living wage like everyone else. Well, at least that`s what Mitt Romney says. The only thing I`m against is corporations lying to make money. I`m pretty sure there`s a law or two against such things."
