Computex 2011 - Shuttle PC
|
Last year we brought you coverage of Computex and Shuttle's offering of a unified laptop standard where interchangeable components meant an almost limitless upgrade potential for your shuttle computer. This year Shuttle's focus has changed like many manufacturers to the tablet market. We won't mention names as we have been asked not to but if you are in the USA and have visited a Best Buy or CompUSA then its likely you have seen Shuttle's Tablets already. That's right Shuttle Tablets are marketed internationally under other brands.

COMPUTEX 2011 - Kingston Wi-Drive Adds Storage
|
One of the bigger drawbacks to iDevices is that they are set in the amount of storage they have. Unlike some other smartphones and tablets, they don’t have memory expansion slots. Kingston is addressing this issue in a very creative way: the Kingston Wi-Drive.

Computex Coverage - Day 3 @ Ninjalane

Creative Labs' Pure Wireless Modularity Event Coverage
|
"On the 1st of June we flew north to Sydney for the second year running, in order to cover Creative Labs' very latest product launch at the Hilton Hotel. Last year we thought the Zii Sound D5 to be a fantastic wireless solution and were very interested to see how they had built on its strengths over the last twelve months.
The event took place in a slightly different room at the same hotel this time around. The internal layout looked to be much the same, however, with a nice projector screen set up in the background and a few rows of chairs along with the latest products adorning the side walls. Once some picture opportunities were taken, we all sat down and began the presentation about how exactly the wireless technology showcased to us last year had improved and expanded and where exactly they had plans on taking this new product line to."

AMD Shows Off Trinity APU based on Bulldozer
|
"While talking up the new 900-series of chipset and the branding for the upcoming AMD Llano APU launch, AMD did surprise us by showing off a bit more of the future than typical. Rick Bergman, general manager of the AMD Product Group, pulled a Trinity-based APU out of his pocket to demonstrate the conviction of staying on a "one-APU-per-year" cycle in the years to come."

MSI shows Gen3 PCIe, X79 Motherboard, LGA2011 socket
|
"Even further out into the future, we saw a glimpse of an MSI engineering sample for the pending Socket 2011 processors from Intel, the MSI X79A-GD65. Supporting the upcoming Sandy Bridge-E processor family and a new quad-channel memory controller, you can clearly see the 2011 socket is HUGE and requires the memory slots to be divided up on either side of it. A lot will change more than likely between now and this boards release but it is cool to see a preview of what is in store for us!"
