I/ITSEC: Cutting Edge Simulation and Training Trade Show Coverage
     Thu, Jan 26 2012 | 9:59A | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
The show covers a wide range of topics and offers education on a wide range of specialties. There were flight simulators as you might imagine, drone flying simulators and several areas that most of us wouldn`t think about, like driving a fire truck. Today we`re going to take a look at some really cool technology at the show and see the pictures. Our host for the event, AVADirect had several systems running in the booths, more than any other system builder by far. I`ve known those behind AVADirect for a few years now and have heard them say their biggest market is government and defense contractor sales, now I see what they mean."

As much as we were going to leave these shots, `in house`, the number of requests by party attendees to show `Bunnies playing Basketball` has been overwhelming so here ya go!"

Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Cards in 3-Way CrossFireX
     Tue, Jan 24 2012 | 9:38A | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Today we grab a third card and see what happens when we move to a three way CrossFireX setup. Since we`ve already looked at the Sapphire card in full detail in our CrossFire review mentioned above, we`ll be getting into the performance side of things fairly quickly today. The first thing we need to do is just take a quick look at our testbed, if you`ve been following our HD 7970 series of content, though, you shouldn`t see anything out of the ordinary. Once we`ve done that we`ll move onto the performance of the setup and see how it compares to other HD 7970s we`ve looked at."

CES 2012: ROCCAT @ ThinkComputers.org
     Mon, Jan 23 2012 | 4:08P | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
So ROCCAT?s booth was quite interesting, I mean ?Ze German?s are coming, and this time we?ll play nice? is a tough slogan, so I wanted to see what they had to impress me. Put it this way, the 6000 DPI adjustable, East-Shift Button, Tracking & Distance Control Unit, Driver + Macro Manager, On-board Memory (yes you read that right), Weight system (yes you read that right again) did NOT let me down. This mouse is priced at $79.99 which is a highly competitive price to top name mouses on the market today. Check out the awesome interview Kathrine & Marcus provided and it will blow your mind on gaming peripherals!"

SilverStone from the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show
     Sun, Jan 22 2012 | 9:01A | Tradeshows / Events | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
“We headed over to the LVH (Las Vegas Hilton) for our meeting with enthusiast case manufacturer SilverStone where we stumbled upon perhaps the most interesting chassis of the week. Their new Mini-ITX FT03-Mini is nearly identical externally to the original FT03 except that it supports a smaller form factor and the optical drive is mounted vertically which looks a bit odd on the silver version. The SilverStone rep described it as the SG05 turned vertically which we can totally relate to.”

At CES 2012, In Win is showing off some things you might have already seen, and others you?ve never seen. Ray with In Win showed us their power supplies, a revised Dragon Rider chassis, along with a couple concept designs and the super limited edition XFRAME. Each chassis is sleek while being super accessible. For example, on the XFRAME, In Win has included a lockable panel that holds all of the screws, and motherboard standoffs. Also, the XFRAME is truly a limited edition. Each XFRAME will be individually numbered, and it?s rumored that the numbers may not go past triple digits."
