ASUS G73
|
Quote: "Pricing gaps of this size can be justified, of course, if the
extra cash also nets you better hardware. It doesn’t. The less
expensive G53JW-XA1 has the same processor, same GPU and same RAM (in
both speed and quantity) as the 3DE model. The 3DE model does have a
Blu-Ray drive and offers 250GB of additional hard drive space, but it
sacrifices the display, which shrinks from 1080p to the more
pedestrian resolution of 1366x768. Yes, it’s beautiful as such
displays go, but this resolution is simply too limiting for a 15.6”
laptop of any breed, nevermind one that is built for gaming."

The Virtual PAX Prime 2011 Schwag Giveaway Part Four ? Thermaltake Edition
|
Futurelooks is on to one more round of free stuff ... *The Virtual PAX Prime 2011 Schwag Giveaway Part Four ? Thermaltake Edition* In our exclusive coverage of PAX Prime 2011, we did our best to give you a look at which hardware companies were out supporting the community. One company that?s heavily invested in gaming is of course Thermaltake, who is well known for their cases, cooler and power supplies, but overseas, their TT eSports division supports eSports in a huge way with their own TV Channel and a gaming league. So PAX Prime 2011 definitely wouldn?t be the same without them. For all the readers that sat at home reading our coverage and checking out videos, Thermaltake gave us a couple tokens of their appreciation to give to you. * * *"

MSI MOA Benelux qualifier 2011
|
It's that time of the year again. Overclockers all over the world gearing up to get them precious tickets for the World Finals in Taipei. But before taking the KLM 747 to Taiwan, there's a long road ahead. For our Benelux clockers an online event was created at the Tweakers.net website. As usual Superpi 32M was one of the chosen tests. The other one was the new 3DMark011 benchmark. Weapons of choice for this online qualifier would be either a very fast SandyBridge CPU or an insanely fast ( read +6.4Ghz) Gulftown. Since only single GPU cards were allowed GTX 580 was an obvious choice. Two teams from Madshrimps, Massman & Pt1t and Gamer & Leeghoofd submitted a score to grab at least one of the three spots for the Benelux qualifier at the MSI HQ in the Netherlands. Last wednesday we got the official mail from MSI that both the [M] teams were selected. Two belgian teams vs one Dutch Team consisting of Viss and Expat_Griz. How did the belgian waffles do in last saturdays event, time to read on...

Fatal1ty P67/H67 ASSrock event
|
ASRock invited to a Fatal1ty P67/H67 event in the Holiday Inn hotel Ratingen, Germany and presented some of their current motherboards.
However, their motherboards were not only shown in this presentation, because the well-known gamer Johnathan aka Fatal1ty also visited this product presentation.
ASRock has developed the ASRock Fatal1ty P67 Professional in cooperation with Fatal1ty, so it suggest itself, that Fatal1ty presented the product Live in this presentation.
Quake was extremely fast, or lets say it was definitely too fast for the opponent ;-)

CEBIT 2011 - MSI Military Class II, Big Bang Marshall
|
The big push for MSI this year is Military Class II. Which if you haven't
heard of, is a brand exclusive. Many manufacturers classify their products
as being military tested, military standard. The truth is that this only
applies to certain components such as capacitors when we are talking
motherboards. Only certain aspects are tested to military standards with
other brands, but with MSI the entire board is military tested, not only the
capacitors or specific components.

CEBIT 2011 - ASUS P8Z68-V Pro Essence One
|
"As you would imagine with only Sandy Bridge being the new platform to
really take precedence in Q1 2011, ASUS didn't have any new Republic of
Gamers motherboards to really show off besides the current lineup. There
were of course the existing Sandy Bridge boards with the new B3 revision
though and a new family member to the current range, featuring a new chipset
- Z68."
