Well it seems that someone`s holding a grudge against Thermaltake (Is this directed against a person or because of a defective product? That i guess we will never know) and so today their Global Website was hacked by someone calling himself alerthack and using the To You Phrase."

NewerTech NuGreen Energy Efficient Flexible Neck LED Desk Lamp Review
     Fri, Jun 08 2012 | 9:05A | Web News | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Working at nights (just like now) is something i do a lot mainly because there`s far less ambient noise around (and also less distractions) allowing me to perform noise level tests far more accurately than during the day. However what`s really hard is sitting in front of a 30 LCD screen and typing without any other light source in the room (amBX lights are not strong enough) something which basically means strong and frequent headaches. To avoid that you must put less strain to your eyes and for that you always need to have a light turned on in the same room which is something i don`t really like especially since the ones I have in this room are very powerful for night use. Well Newertech may have the answer for me since they just released the NuGreen Energy Efficient Flexible Neck LED Desk Lamp."

How To Stop Facebook Notifications On Apple iOS
     Fri, Feb 24 2012 | 1:25P | Web News | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Facebook sure is addictive. Many people cannot live without constant updates on Facebook. Cue in the Facebook iOS app that allows you to bring Facebook wherever you go. When I first gave it a try, it was fun. I would get updates all the time. Then it got a little tedious... and annoying. The Facebook app would keep pinging me everytime someone made a new post or a comment. I tried cutting down what Facebook would notify me to just new posts or comments. However, that still resulted in a deluge of notifications. Eventually, I got so annoyed, I decided to turn off ALL push notifications by the Facebook app. But what the heck, they kept coming like a tsunami. Unstoppable."

     Sat, Dec 17 2011 | 12:00P | Web News | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Last week, Mike Smith from Kingston Technology stopped by the Futurelooks Studio to show off three great gifts that no computer enthusiast will be taking back for a refund this holiday season. One of the gift suggestions was Kingston’s Wi-Drive product which gives Apple iOS devices additional wireless storage without having to buy another larger device. The Wi-Drive comes in both 16GB and 32GB sizes and retails for between $119 – 199 US. Android App support is already released in BETA with an imminent full release on the Android Marketplace very soon. This makes it great gift for both Google and Apple Fanboys.

Palo Alto Audio Design’s Cubik
     Thu, Aug 18 2011 | 4:08P | Web News | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
“When technology is ever evolving, even computer speakers can become outdated. Options such as aesthetically pleasing designs, remote controls and the ability to toggle between inputs on the computer are now starting to become as much of a focus for manufacturers as overall sound quality. Palo Alto Audio Design has chosen to ignore all these user demands and produced a speaker system that prides itself on design rather than performance. Best suited to casual computer users looking for an elegant design for playing back classical or folk music at sensible volume levels, the Cubiks don’t offer the performance or features to justify their high price.”

AOC and Futurelooks have teamed up to giveway a sweet LCD Monitor. Known as the AOC e2243 Fwk 21.5 Inch Aire, this LED backlit monitor is thin as a razor, which means it will look sharp on your desktop. Get it. Sharp? Razor? We recently reviewed this beautiful display and gave it a hard fought 8/10. We loved the picture, the super slim profile and the fact that it’s ready to go once you pop it out of the box. What makes it even better is that one of our awesome Twitter Followers is going to win this!

Arctic Land Rider 403 Remote Controlled Leopard Tank @ TestFreaks
     Sun, Jun 12 2011 | 9:45A | Web News | PermaLink
Posted by: STAFF
Up for review today I?ve got something a bit out of the ordinary, but it?s still tech related I think and it?s certainly not what I might consider a toy, but you might. Arctic has sent me over the Land Rider 403 Remote Controlled Leopard Tank and I have to say it?s a just a blast to use. The land Rider 403 comes completely assembled so all you have to do is charge the battery and start driving and shooting. The tank shoots shells by the remote control. The canon can be moved up and down and it?s attached to a turret that can rotate left and right. The Land Rider 403 is much more than a toy, it?s high quality and highly detailed remote control tank that I?m sure you?ll enjoy."

Breaking news - Osama bin Laden is dead: reports CBC News
     Mon, May 02 2011 | 5:54P | Web News | PermaLink

CBC News May 1, 2011 10:58 PM ET
U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to make a statement momentarily. It's being reported on CNN and in the New York Times that Osama bid Laden is dead.

UPDATE: The US is in possession of Bin Laden's body, the reports say. It was unclear where bin Laden was killed and how the U.S. obtained his body, but CNN was reporting that he was killed outside of Islamabad. US officials have long believed bin Laden, the most wanted man in the world, was hiding a mountainous region along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. President Barack Obama is due to make a statement shortly."

UPDATE 2: Obama had tasked the CIA with the killing or capture of Osama bin laden. In August 2010 a lead surfaced, the US followed him to Pakistan and late in April sent Special Forces to attack a compound in Abbottabad Pakistan. In the words of Barak Obama; "after a firefight, they killed Osama Bin Laden and took custody of his body."

UPDATE 3: Here's the link to a Pakistani IT consultant in Abbottabad who unknowingly live Tweeted the raid by two special forces helicopters on the compound where Osama Bin Laden is reported to have been killed. (URL: http://eu.techcrunch.com/2011/05/02/heres-the-guy-who-unwittingly-live-tweeted-the-raid-on-bin-laden/). This provides a bit more insight into what occurred.
