Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 System Power Load Results

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 system consumes 123W of power which is just 6W more than the Core 2 Duo E6600 system draws. That's very good considering AMD's Athlon64 X2 4800+, which is also built on 65nm, uses 143W of power at idle! The E6750 system is pulling about 3W more power than the single core AMD Sempron 3600+ system at idle.

Total System Idle Power Draw
Processor Total System Power Draw
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 117 Watts
Intel Pentium 4 540 150 Watts
Intel Pentium D 840 165 Watts
Intel Pentium D 940 168 Watts
AMD Sempron 3600+ 120 Watts
AMD Athlon64 4000+ 163 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-60 127 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ 143 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ 156 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-62 168 Watts
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 123 Watts

With one processing core running at full load (chart below), the system consumes 151W of power. The only PC system that uses less is the one equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 and the single core AMD Sempron 3600+ processor. In comparison, an ancient Pentium D 940 CPU system pulls a mind-blowing 230W of power while the Athlon64 FX-62 is no saint either at 196W!

Total System Stressed Power Draw
Processor Total System Power Draw
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (Single Core Load) 144 Watts
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (Dual Core Load) 156 Watts
Intel Pentium 4 540 223 Watts
Intel Pentium D 840 (Single Core Load) 203 Watts
Intel Pentium D 840 (Dual Core Load) 240 Watts
Intel Pentium D 940 (Single Core Load) 230 Watts
Intel Pentium D 940 (Dual Core Load) 253 Watts

AMD Athlon64 4000+ 172 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-60 (Single Core Load) 163 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-60 (Dual Core Load) 196 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ (Single Core Load) 165 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 4800+ (Dual Core Load) 173 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ (Single Core Load) 177 Watts
AMD Athlon64 X2 5000+ (Dual Core Load) 207 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-62 (Single Core Load) 196 Watts
AMD Athlon64 FX-62 (Dual Core Load) 235 Watts
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (Single Core Load) 151 Watts
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (Dual Core Load) 163 Watts

When both processing cores are running at full speed, the Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 system draws a paltry 163W of power! That's amazing when you consider the Pentium D 940 system used 253W of power and the AMD Athlon64 FX-62 235W! Intel definitely seems to have the high power problem tamed, the Core 2 Duo E6750 system is quite energy efficient compared to other platforms PCSTATS has measured.

Now to the fun stuff, 1333MHz FSB processor overclocking! :D
