By combining DirectX8 support with completely new graphics, 3DMark2001 SE continues to provide good overall system benchmarks. 3DMark2001SE has been created in cooperation with the major 3D accelerator and processor manufacturers to provide a reliable set of diagnostic tools. The suite demonstrates 3D gaming performance by using real-world gaming technology to test a system's true performance abilities. Tests include: DirectX8 Vertex Shaders, Pixel Shaders and Point Sprites, DOT3 and Environment Mapped Bump Mapping, support for Full Scene Anti-aliasing and Texture Compression and two game tests using real-time physics.

MSI NX6600GT-TD128E (SLI Mode) 21879

Some notable results here. None of the Geforce 6600-based cards can really keep up with the ATI cards (excepting the much slower x700-based card) in this benchmark except for the Gigabyte GV-3D1. Even running with a single GPU, it's higher than stock memory serves it well here. SLI really does not help much with this benchmark, as we see. As expected, the Albatron 6600U card occupies the middle ground between 6600 and 6600GT performance levels. Both AGP cards were slightly off the pace in this benchmark, one even being beaten by the non-GT ASUS card.

3DMark05 Source: FutureMark

3DMark05 is the latest version of the highly favoured 3DMark graphics benchmarking series. It is the first benchmark to require DirectX®9.0 compliant hardware with support for Pixel Shader 2.0 or higher!

MSI NX6600GT-TD128E (SLI Mode) 5490

Now we start to see the power and potential of SLI...! Both our SLI test cards almost doubled their scores, and in the case of the Gigabyte GV-3D1, managed to best the mighty X800XT based Radeon card. The plain 6600 based card really does not have the horsepower for this benchmark, though the faster Albatron Trinity PC6600U does well for itself and the boosted ASUS card fares even better. Again, both AGP 6600GT-based cards lag behind slightly.
