To completely access the inside of the Biostar iDEQ 250N Mini PC System, you must remove all three outer panels first. Undo the two screws holding the drive rack and you can pull the entire cage out. Removing the rack makes installing each drive easier, but it's not absolutely necessary.

As you can see there is a ton of space to work with. You do not have to remove the drive cage to access the inside of the system, or replace a hard drive or swap out memory.

From swapping the processor to installing memory or a new videocard, you can do just about everything inside the iDEQ 250N Mini PC System you need to without having to pop the top panel off. SFF PC's have certainly come a long way, I can remember a few units where you practically had to disassemble the entire computer just to get a stick of memory in there.

The view from the other side. Users can install memory or even remove the processor completely. Biostar did its homework here and the iDEQ 250N is very easy to work with.

Biostar does a good job at cable management inside the iDEQ 250N Mini PC System too. All the wires are kept tidy thanks the five large cable clips and and handful of well placed zip ties. This is one of the best management systems we've seen, and for a motherboard manufacturer like Biostar to have paid such close attention to detail says quite a bit.

A top view does a good job at illustrating how much space you have to work with. Biostar uses a few well place cable clips to keep the area clear of clutter. The Enhance 220W power supply might seem small, but it kept the system running with a GeForce 7800GTX just fine.

Surprisingly, there is enough space for two full sized hard drives in the Biostar iDEQ 250N Mini PC System, most other SFF's that can accommodate two hard drives are physically larger. If you don't use the floppy, a third hard drive can be installed into the system. To make things easier for the end user, the iDEQ 250N Mini PC System ships with two Serial ATA and SATA power cables with connectors at 90 degrees. There are only two SATA ports (which support RAID 1,0), so if you install a third drive it will need to be IDE.

Everything is easy to access and installation is a snap. The bottom portion of the drive tray is removable so the two 3.5" hard drives can be installed.

The Biostar iDEQ 250N Mini PC System comes with onboard video care of the nVidia Geforce 6100 GPU, and as far as integrated video goes this solution is reasonably adept. However, if you find the onboard Geforce 6-series video to be inadequate to your needs, you can install a full fledged PCI Express x16 videocard for dedicated 3D power.

The orientation of the CPU cooler is very important and you want the CPU fan blowing towards the rear of the system (it is shown backwards here). It's replaceable should it die however you'll need to get yourself a slimline 80mm fan.

Videocards using dual slot coolers (like the GeForce 7900GTX or Radeon X1900 XTX) will occupy the space for the PCI device. As the power supply in the iDEQ 250N Mini PC System doesn't have a six pin videocard power connection you'll also need to fish ou that Y-splitter that shipped with the videocard. Luckily there are two free molex power connectors just for this situation.
