Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra, Super Pi, PCMark04

SiSoft Sandra 2005 Source: Sandra

Sandra is designed to test the theoretical power of a complete system as well as the individual components. The results are also purely theoretical and may not represent real world performance.

Sisoft Sandra 2005 Benchmark Results
Multimedia Benchmark CPU Benchmark Memory Benchmark
Processors Integer SSE3: Floating-Point SSE3: Dhrystone SSE3: Whetstone SSE3: Integer SSE3: Float SSE3:
Shuttle XPC SD11G5 (915GM 133/533) 16420 18244 7412 3057 3042 3033
AOpen Mini PC MP915-B (915GM 133/533) 16458 18147 7396 3071 2947 2942

Please note that the latest version of SiSoft Sandra 2005 includes SSE3 support which is why there are no FPU numbers in the CPU portion of the benchmark. Memory bandwidth from the AOpen Mini PC is only around 100MB/s, that's lower than the Shuttle Pentium M system which is a bit of a surprise.

Super Pi Source: SuperPI

SuperPI calculates the number PI to 1 Million digits in this raw number crunching benchmark. The program allows the user to change the number of digits of PI that can be calculated from 16 thousand to 32 million. Our benchmark is set to 1 Million digits and 19 iterations.

Super Pi
1 Million Digit Test Seconds Ranking
Shuttle XPC SD11G5 (915GM 133/533) 55
AOpen Mini PC MP915-B (915GM 133/533) 57

Overall the AOpen Mini PC MP915-B performs quite well and despite the lack of a dual channel memory controller, is only two seconds slower than the Shuttle SFF in computing Pi to 1 million digits.

PCMark04 Source: FutureMark

PCMark04 is an application-based benchmark and a premium tool for measuring overall PC performance. It uses portions of real applications instead of including whole applications or using specifically created code. This allows PCMark04 to maintain a smaller installation size while still giving accurate results.

PCMark04
Overall: Points Ranking
Shuttle XPC SD11G5 (915GM 133/533) 3241
AOpen Mini PC MP915-B (915GM 133/533) 3105
CPU: Points Ranking
Shuttle XPC SD11G5 (915GM 133/533) 3644
AOpen Mini PC MP915-B (915GM 133/533) 3430

HDD: Points Ranking
Shuttle XPC SD11G5 (915GM 133/533) 5846
AOpen Mini PC MP915-B (915GM 133/533) 2838

The PCMark04 numbers are very interesting, the AOpen Mini PC MP915-B is able to keep up with the Shuttle in pretty much every area except HDD. No surprise there, the Shuttle is equipped with a WD Raptor while the AOpen Mini PC uses a notebook hard drive.
